Physical Therapy Department

The Physical Therapy Department at The Pottsville Hospital and Warne Clinic offers services in addition to traditional physical therapy that include treatments for vestibular disorders, urinary incontinence, wounds, in-patient rehabilitation, and outpatient rehabilitation for adults and pediatric patients.

Vestibular Rehabilitation

With greater than 15 years of vestibular service, the PHWC is able to offer the experience and latest technological advances needed to effectively treat all types of balance disorders and dizziness.  Our primary focus is restoring function, decreasing risk for falls, and achieving your individual goals.
Our facility is able to provide you with state of the art equipment including the Balance Master™ Computerized Dynamic Posturography, along with hands-on, one-on-one attention by a knowledgeable therapist.  Recent analysis of our 2005 and 2006 outcomes has revealed a patient rating of >80% in overall improvement in less than one month of treatments

BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo), the most common vestibular disorder, can often be alleviated in just one treatment.  Patients often report complete resolution of their dizziness after one positional treatment.

Urinary Incontinence

We offer a unique therapeutic program that addresses symptoms of urinary incontinence in women, men, and children.  Our trained staff is able to provide patients with a thorough understanding of their symptoms involving pelvic floor muscle dysfunction, which is the inability   of the pelvic floor to control the flow of urine, causing people to leak urine.

Our physical therapists are able to evaluate and treat pelvic floor muscle dysfunction by strengthening and retraining the pelvic floor muscles.  This can be accomplished through the use of biofeedback and electrical stimulation, instruction in a home exercise program, lifestyle changes, and exercises to strengthen and tone the pelvic floor muscles.

Our clinic provides evaluation and treatment sessions that are conducted in a comfortable, private area that maintains the utmost regard for patient confidentiality.  Staff members work closely with you in consultation with your primary or referring physician to address and treat your symptoms of urinary incontinence.
