Behavioral Health Services

This adult behavioral health program provides a comprehensive treatment setting for patients by offering a variety of treatment modalities including group, individual and family therapies, diagnostic and evaluation services, educational programs, activity therapies and medication.

The 36-bed secure unit features private and semi-private rooms, lounge, dining room, activity therapy room and other common areas.

Treatment is provided by a multi-disciplinary treatment team directed by a psychiatrist. The team consists of Registered Nurses, LPN’s, Patient Care Coordinators (Social Workers), Psychologist, Mental Health Technicians, Activity Therapists and aides.

The main objective of inpatient Behavioral Health is to provide a climate of hope to individuals as they work through their crises and return to their homes, their families and their communities.

Patients are admitted to this program by licensed psychiatrists. They are often referred to the unit by physicians, community agencies, other hospitals, other professionals or community members, clergy, family, friends and by self-referral.

Professionals are encouraged to contact Behavioral Health Services for more information regarding program capabilities and referral procedures at (570) 621-5500. You may also contact Barbara Prock, RN, BSN, MSC, Administrative Director, Behavioral Health at (570) 621-5503 or bprock@pothosp.com.

Adolescent Behavioral Health Services

The Adolescent Program is specifically designed for adolescents between the ages of 13 and 18 (other ages by exception).

The attractive 10-bed secure unit offers the finest of psychiatric, medical and educational services. Located close to home, our program involves and encourages families to be part of their loved one’s treatment through family therapy sessions.

The program, through the integrated effort of its professional staff, develops individualized treatment plans for each patient admitted to the unit. This plan is based on thorough evaluation of the child’s medical and psychiatric condition, social/educational history and functional performance level.

Our staff of psychiatrist, psychologist, nurses, social workers, educator and recreational therapists are dedicated to building and strengthening each patient for “tomorrows that can be brighter”.

For more information on our program and admission procedures please call us at (570) 621-5551. You may also contact Barbara Prock, RN, BSN, MSC, Administrative Director, Behavioral Health at (570) 621-5503 or bprock@pothosp.com.
